Though the tree has yet to make an appearance, Christmas has officially begun in my household with the first festive film of the season watched last night.
My boyfriend and I were joined by two of our friends for our usual Tuesday Film Club evening. As we searched Netflix UK looking for the film that this week’s host had in mind, a multitude of other festive favourites cropped up.
Soon enough we found what we’d been looking for – the brilliant Home Alone.
Fast-forward to Kevin’s magnificent traps and high jinks and the laughter coming from my boyfriend and friends (27 and 28-year-old men) was nearly deafening.
Everyone has a particular Christmas favourite they like to watch every year; Home Alone definitely ticks the box for my boyfriend and friends.
I’ve watched and featured festive flicks on Cinematic Delights before, ranging from the much-loved Elf to Burton’s A Nightmare before Christmas.
This year, I’m planning on going back a few decades and watching such classics as It’s a Wonderful Life (1946), Miracle on 34th Street (1947) and White Christmas (1954).
I haven’t seen any of these before so when 12.30pm rolls by on Friday 18th and I’ve finished work for the year, I’ll have a look through Netflix UK and see whether they’re listed.
What will you be watching?
Always watch either Home Alone, Elf or Muppet Christmas Carol 🙂
Like you, Home Alone is always at the top of my Xmas viewing along with Scrooged. Hope you had a good one Claire and happy new year!
