Movie news this week: Django Unchained and World War Z

Quentin Tarantino’s next project, the spaghetti Western Django Unchained, has been given a release date: 25th December 2012.

Matthew Fox and Ed Harris have joined the cast of Marc Forster’s World War Z. The film is based on Max Brooks’ best-selling novel about a worldwide infestation of flesh-eating zombies.

Russel Crowe is set to play Jor-El in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. Jor-El is Superman’s biological father.

Universal Pictures’ Snow White and the Huntsman has found screenwriters in Evan Spiliotopoulos and Hossein Amini. The film will be a new take on the classic fairy tale and stars Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

While the release date is still unknown, it has been confirmed that Christopher Hampton will write the screenplay for David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method. Sony Pictures Classics announced that it has acquired the US Rights from UK based Hanway Films.
