King Colin reigns supreme at the BAFTAs

Colin Firth is having a truly fantastic awards season. With seven major best actor wins already under his belt – including at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild and London Film Critics – King Colin is on top of the world.

The highest accolade which the Academy can bestow, the Fellowship, was presented to Christopher Lee. The award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema was received by JK Rowling and David Heyman on behalf of the Harry Potter films.

The King’s Speech won seven BAFTAs last night at London’s Royal Opera House including Best Film, Leading Actor for Colin Firth, Supporting Actor for Geoffrey Rush and Supporting Actress for Helena Bonham Carter.

Natalie Portman won Leading Actress for her role in Black Swan.

The Social Network and Inception won three BAFTAs each with David Fincher taking away Best Director for The Social Network.
